  • Get the most out of your toilet!

We’ve all done it: walked into a washroom, taken one sniff, and immediately wanted to head straight back out. Why does the men’s restroom always seem ten times worse? Bad odours in washrooms aren’t just unpleasant; they leave a lasting impression on customers, staff, and visitors. A clean, fresh-smelling toilet can genuinely elevate someone’s experience of your business (yes, even the loo can impact customer satisfaction!). Understanding the Problem Here’s the thing: most of the time, the fix for that dreaded “urinal stink” isn't as easy as spraying some heavily perfumed air freshener or using up a bottle of toilet cleaner. The problem starts from the beginning. Why Don't Traditional Cleaning Products Do the Job? In homes, where toilets are used far less frequently, regular cleaning products usually do the job. However, in high-traffic environments, these products often only hide the issue rather than resolve it. Persistent urinal odours typically stem from a build-up of uric scale, bacteria, and crystallisation deep within pipework and drainage systems. Traditional urinal blocks rely on strong fragrances to cover up smells. While the area may seem fresh at first, the real problem remains—and continues to grow over time. The Solution: Enzyme-Based Products This is why you need to use more effective products, like enzymes, to tackle the real issue from within. Our edencleen Enzyme Urinal Blocks use naturally occurring 'good bacteria' to address the root cause of the problem rather than just cover up the smells. They work behind the scenes to: Break down blockages and uric scale Convert crystallisation into harmless carbon dioxide and water Keep your pipes free-flowing and healthy Reduce long-term odour build-up Best Practices for Maintenance For best results, each urinal should always have a block in place. Over time, as the enzymes get to work, the block will naturally break down. This proactive approach ensures that your washrooms remain fresh and inviting. The Importance of Cleanliness in Professional Spaces Maintaining cleanliness in professional spaces is crucial. It reflects your commitment to hygiene and customer satisfaction. A clean washroom can significantly enhance the overall experience of your visitors. Conclusion In conclusion, tackling washroom odours requires more than just a quick fix. By using enzyme-based products like our edencleen Enzyme Urinal Blocks, you can effectively eliminate the root causes of unpleasant smells. This not only improves the hygiene of your facilities but also leaves a positive impression on everyone who visits your business. By prioritising cleanliness and hygiene, you contribute to a cleaner, safer world for your customers and communities. Remember, a fresh washroom is just as important as a clean workspace.

  • How to treat mould safely & effectively.

As temperatures drop and heating is used more frequently, indoor environments can become the perfect breeding ground for mould. Condensation, poor ventilation, and moisture all contribute to its growth. While mould is unsightly, it can also pose health risks if left untreated particularly for those with existing respiratory conditions. The good news is that mould doesn’t have to take over your space. With the right approach, it can be treated safely and effectively. Treating small areas of mould For minor patches of mould, a simple cleaning solution may be sufficient. Start by wiping or vacuuming the affected area to remove loose debris. Mix warm water with a small amount of washing-up liquid , then gently scrub the area. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow the surface to dry. This process may need to be repeated to achieve the best results. Use an effective mould remover cleaner For greater peace of mind, especially where mould is more established, using a dedicated mould and mildew remover is recommended. These products are specifically formulated to sanitise surfaces and kill mould, bacteria, yeast, and fungi at the source, helping to prevent regrowth. They’re quick and easy to use, but it’s important to always follow the instructions on the product label for safe and effective results. Tackling larger, stubborn areas If mould is widespread, persistent, or difficult to access, professional intervention may be necessary. Specialist services can safely remove mould and address underlying causes such as excess moisture or poor ventilation, reducing the risk of it returning. Taking early action is key. Whether you’re dealing with a small patch or a larger problem, choosing the right treatment helps protect both your space and the people using it. If you'd like advice on particular cleaning products and finding the right product to treat the problem, our expert Technical team are available to support: technical.enquiries@cleenol.co.uk
