Bactericidal vs Antibacterial Previously we used the phrase 'Bactericidal' to describe products which are proven to kill bacteria and viruses etc. However it is more accurate to say that these products are 'Antibacterial' The term 'Bactericidal' means to only kill bacteria, 'Antibacterial' means to kill AND suppress bacterial growth. Many of the types of biocides we use in our products have a residual effect on surfaces that suppress bacterial growth and therefore our change from Bactericidal to Antibacterial makes more sense to the end user.
